Welcome to Rolling Fork Organic Farm
We are a Certified Organic vegetable farm in the hills of Central Kentucky just down the road from the beautiful town of Danville. We grow a variety of vegetables and a few select fruits in our fields and greenhouses. We produce premium pasture raised, non-GMO pork. We also pasture raise Belted Galloway beef that is available in 2018.
We are pleased to offer carefully raised vegetables and pastured pork to the families of Kentucky through kitchens & retail outlets. You can find our products at Good Foods Market and Café on Southland Drive in Lexington, Grace Cafe in Danville, Pasture @ Marksbury Farm in Lancaster, the County Seat in Lebanon & @ the Weekly Juicery in Lexington & Louisville. We are also working with the Danville and Boyle County communities to establish a Food Hub in our area.
Our produce is certified organic by the Kentucky Department of Ag & is Kentucky Proud. Our pork is pasture raised on organic pasture & fed a non-GMO diet. Our beef is pastured, grassfed & eventually, certified organic.
RFOF is currently working with the Natural Resource Conservation Service to increase conservation practices on our farm. In 2016, 150 Chestnut Oaks & Pecan trees, 200 Persimmon & Pawpaw trees, & 300 Raspberry brambles, in addition to, a 30' x 1500' pollinator strip were added to our north border. We also added a rotational grazing fence & waterer for our cows. In 2018, we will add an additional rotational grazing area for sheep. 9 acres of crop and pasture land was cover cropped with a winter rye, clover, vetch, winter pea mix last fall.
Each season we open up the farm to interns and apprentices, some of whom go on to begin their own lives of working the soil. We love to share our knowledge and passion for organic farming with those that see farming in their own future. Interested in an organic farm apprenticeship?
